Silly Fears…

He loved the beach, but he hated the tunnel that ran under the highway from the parking lot. It wasn’t the echoing noises, it wasn’t the flickering lights, it wasn’t even the urine smell that permeated it. It was the thought of a giant wave crashing over the beach and trapping him under the road. The imaginations of an 8-year-old.

I’m so glad I grew out of that silliness and came to realize that the only thing to be afraid of was dark. I mean, the bogey man lives in the dark, right?
